We build all our sites through WordPress, the world’s most popular website content management platform. It allows us to build our sites for scale and provides a user friendly system for our clients to make basic updates. But we don’t just create awesome websites, we provide the tools and strategies for our clients to help them build a successful online presence!
Our Design Process
Designing a website, no matter how big or small, is an extensive process that can be overwhelming. To better help you understand what to expect during the design and development, here’s our process in 3 steps:
1) Layout and Design
A large and time consuming part of designing a website is in the planning and layout stage of the process. I’ll create the sitemap (Page/Menu hierarchy) of the website for approval first, then I’ll design the home page and a sub page (or more upon request) for approval.
2) Build & Develop
Once the site layout and design is approved, I’ll move forward with the designing all site pages and implementing all functionality and plugins. We’ll make sure your site looks great and functions nicely across all devices and web browsers before moving to the final step.
3) Edits & Revisions
Once the site is ready for final review, you’ll be able to review each page and we can make detailed edits until the site is ready for launch. We ask that you please review ALL pages to make sure all spelling, grammar, addresses and information are correct before going live.
Mobile is key
It’s crucial that your website be responsive, which means the content scales and stacks on smaller screen sizes.
More than half of website users are viewing sites on mobile devices (tablets and cell phones).
Not only that, Google ranks websites lower in search results if they aren’t responsive.
Most themes, including the one we use, are responsive out of the box. But we take it a step further by optimizing the site for mobile, meaning we change the size of the fonts and images on mobile, the order in which elements stack, and the spacing between elements, so your site can look its best across all devices.

Do you have an hourly rate?
Our services are catered to our clients needs, timeframes and functionality. Every project is different so we normally handle projects at a fixed rate. With that said, we do offer a retainer package in which you can purchase design time hourly and use it whenever you’d like for say, a new business card design, a new brochure design, website updates, etc.
How does the design process work?
Web design projects start with your online goals. I listen intently to your needs and questions then develop a vision as to how your website will look, how it will engage your clientele and more importantly, how it will represent you well. If it’s your first time working with a developer to build your website, no worries, my goal is to make the process personalized and uncomplicated to give you the best design experience possible.
Phase 1 | Discovery
We work with you to discover the exact size your website needs to be, the content that will be required, and the functionality needed to meet your goals.
Phase 2 | Design
In the design phase we do the following:
1. SEO Research
2. Competitor Analysis
3. Write the content (you get unlimited edits here)
4. Create the design mockup (you get unlimited revisions here)
Phase 3 | Develop
After you sign off on all the content and design we move the project from our content team to our development team that pulls everything together to build your new website
Phase 4 | Deploy
You’ll get 3 full rounds of revisions to make any adjustments to the site prior to use launching the site for you to the world. We connect your site to any services required and ensure it’s all synced up to Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
What will you need from me?
Once you’ve accepted your custom proposal and signed our design contract, we will send you some information about our process and what we will need from you. But if you’re curious now, here’s our checklist:
- Your logo (PDF, EPS or high res JPEG if possible)
- Login Information for domain and hosting (if you already have these in place)
- Current website login (if you already have a WordPress site)
- Images or any new pictures you’d like to use for the new site
- Brand style guide, colours, or any special graphics being used
What’s your design time turn around?
For web design, pending clear communication and all information provided at the start of the project, I try to get the homepage and a few sub pages ready for review within 15-30 days. Once the design and layout is approved, then I move forward with the rest of the site. The majority of my website design projects last between 30-60 days.
For print design, I let you know when I plan to jump on the project then the initial design mock ups are sent within 72 hours unless stated otherwise. You’ll receive jpeg images via email to view for any input, adjustments or corrections you may have. That process continues until the design is completed and ready for print.
Do you do the printing?
I come from a printing background. I once had my own print shop. I handle the design, color management and file preparation, all printing is out-sourced within my network. I have strong connections with large format printers, small format printers, embroidery printers and more. If you need assistance with getting your marketing materials printed, I just add the cost to the project proposal. My goal is to take care of everything from start to finish so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
How do you handle payments/
Most projects are handled with an investment of 50% up front and 50% upon completion. Payment must be made in full before items are sent to print or published to web. For projects on a larger scale, I offer payment options in a 30%, 30%, 40% time sensitive agreement. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Cashapp, and Apple pay are accepted.
How does Logo and Print Work
The logo design process starts with research. I find out about your business, your goals, your vision and then I look at your competition. Once I find the elements that will set you apart, then I hit the drawing board. Most items are sketched out to find the right design elements and shape arrangement, then the top designs are taken to digital format where they really come to life. You’ll receive jpegs of the first mock ups via email. Once the design is approved, you’ll receive a full logo package with different file formats for web and print.
The print design process is similar to that of the logo design process. I look at your needs and work toward designing creative materials that represent you well. Initial designs are sent via email for edits and approval. The editing process continues until the product design is completed to satisfaction. All files are then finalized, formatted and ready to be sent to print.
Do you travel for meetings?
I sure do! I’m based in Tulsa, OK. I offer to travel within that 50 mile radius for a free consultation. For meetings of farther distances, I do have a travel cost policy but am happy to make arrangements to meet!
